Fill volume variations

Hey everyone, hope '24 treats ya well.

Just out of curiosity, what are your fill volumes looking like? In a 375mL can, we target 377g tared weight to hit that 375mL fill volume.

Importantly, what methods are you using to test this? Do you have equipment monitoring every can individually? Are you doing four or six pack average weights? Hourly checks of a can from each fill head? What methods of low fill detection are you using?

We have a (not fancy) x-ray that dectects a density drop when the liquid level is below a certain point and rejects the can. I've found that I have variations +/- 6g with one occasional low fill can that comes in at 362g-367g (not fill head specific). Am I expecting too much of the machine? I hear people say they have it dialed in with a +/-3g variance, but the same folks don't have an accurate low fill detection, so I'm hesitant to trust the veracity of those claims without individual can testing.

Anyone else in the same boat or have any guidance on equipment limitations and realistic expectations?
